FEATURE: Earthquakes to host viewing party for Quarter Final matchup between USWNT and France

The United States Women's National Team earned a 2-1 win over Spain on Monday morning. The USWNT took the lead early on in the match with a penalty that Megan Rapinoe converted in the 7th minute. The lead did not last very long as a defensive mistake allowed Spain to equalize just two minutes later in the 9th minute. The deadlock remained for the rest of the first half and into the second half until the Spaniards committed a foul inside their box. After a lengthy VAR review, a penalty was awarded to the USWNT. Rapinoe stepped up to the spot once again and slotted the ball into the back of the net to give the U.S. the 2-1 lead in the 76th minute.

The United States Women's National Team will now take on hosts France in the Quarter Finals of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. Join the Quakes on Friday, June 28, at 12:00 p.m. at Avaya Stadium to watch the match on the video board in the Epicenter.
