FEATURE: Nick Lima impresses with the United States in emotional return to San Jose

Nick Lima - USMNT

On Saturday, Feb. 2, Quakes homegrown defender Nick Lima made an emotional return to San Jose  in the United States' 2-0 win against Costa Rica.

The third-year Quakes defender started and played 90 minutes for the USMNT for the second consecutive match, recording another clean sheet for his country. After winning Man of the Match for the U.S. last Sunday in Arizona, Lima impressed in front of hundreds of friends and family at Avaya Stadium.

In the second half, the Cal alumnus nearly scored the opening goal for the United States after his driven shot deflected off the far post.
