The San Jose Earthquakes were well represented at the United States U17 camp last week in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Quakes Academy defender Oscar Verhoeven, midfielders Cruz Medina and Edwyn Mendoza, and forward Fidel Barajas made up one-fifth of the 20-player camp that featured friendlies against Argentina and Uruguay.

The United States fell to Argentina 2-1 on March 15. All four Quakes Academy players started and Medina scored the lone goal for the Americans in the first minute.

Three days later, Team USA bounced back with a 2-1 win over Uruguay and Medina got on the board once again with the game-winning assist as a substitute.

The Quakes were the most represented club at the camp as they were only team to send four players. Additionally, Quakes Academy coach Dan DeGeer served as an assistant coach for the U17s.
