MATCH PREVIEW: FC Dallas the next challenge on the road for San Jose

2019 at fc dallas

Another match for the Quakes, another battle against one of the best teams in MLS. FC Dallas have been red hot so far this year with an overall record of 5-2-1 and an unbeaten home record of 3-0-1. This Saturday’s trip to Toyota Stadium will be the sixth time in nine matches this season that San Jose face a team that currently sits in a playoff position.

Since the start of the 2018 MLS season, only two teams have been able to defeat Dallas at home during the regular season. The Quakes just happened to be one of those two, along with Sporting KC. Last year’s 3-1 win for San Jose in Frisco was one of the highlights of a rough 2018 season for the Earthquakes. In fact, the Quakes have won each of their last three matches against FC Dallas. Additionally, San Jose has dropped just one of their last seven matches against the Lone Star club since the start of the 2016 MLS season (3-1-3).

Dallas has plenty of offensive weapons that the Quakes will have to watch out for. None though, are as in-form as their Homegrown forward Jesus Ferreira. Ferreira has scored in the first 10 minutes in each of their last two matches. With those two goals, the Santa Marta, Colombia native is now the team’s leading scorer with three goals in only five games started. Ferreira is a name to remember for the future as he is just 18 years old.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 12:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Univision, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.
