1. Corrales' big night:
A true hometown hero, Ramiro Corrales, will be honored at halftime of the match as the ninth player inducted into the Earthquakes Hall of Fame. A Salinas native, Corrales was a member of Quakes teams that won MLS Cups in 2001 and 2003. He is the club's all-time leader in games played (25), starts (228) and minutes (20,188). He is also tied for fourth in assists with 32 and 11th in goals with 16. He retired in 2013 as the last active original MLS player. A 2000 Olympian, Corrales joined the Quakes in 1996 after being dealt by Columbus, which picked him in the league's first draft.

2. Depth check: The Quakes' midfield depth will be tested this week. Anibal Godoy, Cordell Cato and Sanna Nyassi are all way on international duty. Godoy will represent Panama in friendlies against Uruguay and Venezuela. Cato will suit up for Trinidad and Tobago in a friendly against Mexico; and Nyassi will represent The Gambia against Cameron in an African Nations Cup Qualifier. Marc Pelosi is also with the U.S. U-23 team in Olympic warm-up competition. But things aren't as shaky as they may seem. Regular starter Shea Salinas should be joined by forward/midfielder Matias Perez Garcia, who is expected to return from an injury. Leandro Barrera, Tommy Thompson and JJ Koval are also in the mix. Chris Wondolowski can be dropped back into a midfield role. So coach Dominic Kinnear has plenty of options.

3. Keep on rolling: The Quakes feel confident no matter who takes the field. They have won four straight games, all by shutout. That's impressive. Only two other MLS teams have accomplished the feat. Center back Clarence Goodson was named to the MLS Team of the Week for a league-best fifth time after a 1-0 shutdown of the LA Galaxy. Goalkeeper David Bingham hasn't allowed a goal in 374 minutes. He has 90 saves, the second most in the league. Shea Salinas' header goal against the Galaxy in the 18th minute marked the third straight game the Quakes scored within the first 20 minutes, a key factor in their run. Quincy Amarikwa has four goals and three assists in nine productive games with the Quakes, also drawing a penalty kick and a red card against an opponent.
