SAN JOSE, Calif. — San Jose Earthquakes II fell to St Louis CITY2 2-0 on Sunday night at Spartan Soccer Complex in MLS NEXT Pro regular-season play.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 25th minute when former Quakes II forward Riley Lynch crossed the ball into the 18-yard box and CITY2 striker Nighte Pickering found the back of the net. Pickering secured a brace and doubled the visitor’s lead in the 54th minute, which set the final 2-0 margin.
At the conclusion of the match, Quakes II remains in 8th place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference and 5th place in the Pacific Division (8-8-5). St Louis CITY2 remains in 5th place in the MLSNP Western Conference and 3rd place in the Frontier Division (9-7-7).
Quakes II travels to face Houston Dynamo 2 on Wednesday, Aug. 19. Kickoff from SaberCats Stadium will take place at 4 p.m. PT and will be broadcast via OneFootball, as well as on MLSNEXTPro.com.
