SEASIDE, Calif. — San Jose Earthquakes II defeated Sporting Kansas City II 6-1 on Tuesday night at Cardinale Stadium in MLS NEXT Pro regular-season play.
The hosts took the lead early when Shane de Flores finished a headed pass from Julian Donnery in the 8th minute. SKC II forward Kashan Hines secured the equalizer 24 minutes later in the 32nd minute. However, the score did not stay level for long. In the 40th minute, San Jose midfielder Kaedren Spivey hammered in a goalkeeper deflection to put his squad back on top. Moments before halftime, Quakes II forward Zach Bohane doubled the lead in the 45+1 minute.
Just three minutes into the second half, Quakes II forward Julian Donnery found the back of the net in the 48th minute. In the 81st minute, San Jose forward Warren Boyce netted his first career goal. However, he was not done yet as he secured a brace in the 89th minute to set the final 6-1 margin.
Quakes II continue homestand on Sunday, July 12, when they face Tacoma Defiance. Kickoff from Cardinale Stadium will take place at 5 p.m. PT and will be broadcast globally via OneFootball, as well as on MLSNEXTPro.com.
