The CONCACAF Gold Cup is about to get bigger. CONCACAF announced Monday that the tournament, which the United States won in 2017 at Levi's Stadium, will now expand to 16 teams. The next edition of the Gold Cup will take place in 2019. The are also exploring the idea of a "pan-regional footprint" for the 2019 event, where it could be played in Central America and the Caribbean.
