SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes captain and Major League Soccer’s all-time leading scorer Chris Wondolowski will be honored with a namesake beer by Hapa’s Brewing Company. The pilsner, known as Wondo Pils, will be launched during an event at Hapa’s brewery and taproom in San Jose on Tuesday, July 27 from 5-8 p.m.
Hapa’s brewery and taproom is located at 460 Lincoln Ave., Ste. 90, San Jose, CA 95126
Wondolowski will be present between 5:30-7:30 p.m. to engage with fans, sign autographs, and take photos. The native of Danville, Calif. has scored an MLS record 168 regular-season goals, 23 more than any other player in league history, including at least 10 in each season between 2010-2019.
In addition to the launch of the pilsner, which will be available on draft and in cans, the Quakes will have a giveaway spin wheel for fans to win bobbleheads, scarves, t-shirts, stress balls, and Wondo Pils stickers. The event will also feature cornhole, a music playlist selected by Wondolowski himself, and the Chick n’ Bros food truck.
A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Street Soccer USA, whose mission is to fight poverty and empower underserved communities through soccer. Wondolowski is a longtime supporter and ambassador for Street Soccer USA.
