Too $hort boasts a career as one of the most influential rappers of all-time, with a career spanning five decades starting in the 1980s. He is a pioneer of West Coast rap with six consecutive platinum albums and prolific songs “Blow the Whistle” and “Life is …Too $hort”. His home city of Oakland honored him last year for his achievements with his own day and street name, “Too $hort Way”.

Multi-platinum songwriter, producer, and rapper Mistah F.A.B. is credited as a pioneer of the Bay Area Hyphy Movement in the early 2000s with iconic records such as N.E.W. Oakland, Sideshow, and Super Sic Wit It. An Oakland native, Mistah F.A.B. is a community leader focused on investing in both the arts and the next generation of his city.

West Coast Rapper LaRussell is a Vallejo native with a rapidly growing fanbase and notable songs “Again” and “Boss Market Blues”. Aside from music, LaRussell is also the founder of “Good Compenny”, an independent initiative operated by creatives to promote up-and-coming Bay Area artists.

Hip-Hop music originated in New York in 1973 and celebrates 50 years this summer. The American art form has significant ties in the Bay Area dating back to the 1970s. Along with the performers coming to the California Clasico, numerous artists representing the Bay Area have made a significant impact on Hip-Hop, including E-40, Tupac Shakur, Digital Underground, Souls of Mischief, and Mac Dre, among others. Hip-Hop has transcended in Northern California through the decades, and the Earthquakes will celebrate 50 years of what is now one of the most streamed genres globally.
