SAN JOSE, Calif. — The San Jose Earthquakes will honor 14 members of the club’s family at halftime of Saturday’s regular-season Decision Day finale at PayPal Park with Devotion Scarves, an honor bestowed upon only the most devoted Earthquakes fans, staff, alumni or community members. The Quakes presented Devotion Scarves for the first time in 2015, and they are now awarded annually at the final home game of the regular season. The 14 recipients of a 2025 Devotion Scarf are included below with descriptions of their commitments to the club.

Frank Avila – Frank wore many hats for the Earthquakes as athletic trainer, equipment manager and travel secretary among other duties, both in the club’s days in the North American Soccer League (NASL) and the Western Soccer Alliance. He even went on a third tour of duty with the club, this time in game operations when the club was known as the Clash during their nascent MLS years, all the way through the 2001 season, when they were once again known as the Earthquakes and won the first of their two MLS Cups. As one of the few members of the Quakes Family who participated in all three eras, Frank’s devotion to the club is as unique as it is lasting.

Patrick & Elaine Bernal – The Bernals have supported the Quakes since they became Season Ticket Holders for the club’s initial campaign in 1974, as well as for the MLS rebirth as the Clash in 1996. With over five decades of fandom under their belts, few people have attended more games than them and their dedication is renowned around the club community.

Andy Dunbar – As the club’s longtime head equipment manager, Andy arrived at the club in 2015 from his native North Carolina and has become an enduring constant in San Jose ever since, ensuring our team has the tools they need to compete and excel. Universally respected in the club by the players, coaches and staff for his decade of service, as well as by his peers around Major League Soccer for his professionalism and dedication to his craft, Andy was even recognized by Topps this season with his own trading card.

Mario Gonzalez – A Quakes fan since they arrived to the South Bay in 1974, Mario channeled his father’s passion for the sport and fell in love with the club almost immediately when attending games with his afterschool program, with his memories of the team and Krazy George roaming the stands an indelible part of his upbringing. Now a renowned coach at Legends Futsal, it filled him with pride to see his former youth player Beau Leroux wear the Black and Blue as he marked Lionel Messi on the PayPal Park pitch years later.

Noe Guzman – Noe has supported the Quakes since 2004. At the time, he had a part-time job in stadium operations at Spartan Stadium and enjoyed the games so much he fell in love with the club, entertained by the dazzling displays of Dwayne Del Rosario. Since then, his brother even played for the Quakes Academy, reinforcing his ties to the club. A pillar of the San Jose community, Noe has spent countless years as the Sports Director at Healing Grove, giving local kids from underserved areas the opportunity to get involved in sports.

Omar Habbas – As Founder and Managing Partner of Habbas Law, Omar has been a steward of the community, being as ubiquitous in the Bay Area as he has been supportive of the Earthquakes and the Quakes Foundation’s work to impact lives. In addition to being the Presenting Partner of the Community Section at PayPal Park and the club’s first Official Jersey Sleeve Partner, he also has been an advocate for the club’s public arts project to erect several soccer-themed murals in Northern California ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Graeme Logie – An Earthquakes fan since he attended the second game in club history in 1974 against St. Louis, Graeme later served a stadium usher in 1976-77 before rejoining the team as a volunteer working for Game Day Operations lead Brian Holmes, who still works for the club today. So does Graeme, who has worked for the club every season since they joined MLS and has been the Red Hat/Time Out Coordinator for the club since 1999. Overall, not only has Graeme been a part of the Earthquakes Family for nearly 35 years, his youngest son Cameron joined the Game Day crew in 2024.

Mayor Matt Mahan – An ardent supporter of the Earthquakes and the club’s mission to be the epicenter of soccer in Northern California, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan has been a constant presence in the community. Whether he’s speaking at the 50th Anniversary Gala at PayPal Park or at Quakes Foundation events like the Saturday Night Lights (SNL) futsal program that gives kids in East San Jose opportunities for positive extracurricular activities, Mayor Mahan has been committed to making sure the people of our city win on and off the field.

James McCaskill – James is relatively new to soccer and the Earthquakes, but his devotion runs deep. After attending his first match at Levi’s Stadium in 2023, he had his family became proud Season Ticket Holders one year later. As the Senior Director at Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, he has collaborated with the Quakes Foundation on Grow the Game Initiatives that support youth, namely helping launch the Saturday Night Lights (SNL) pilot futsal program.

Ron & Swanee Rickard – Quakes fans since the inaugural MLS game on April 6, 1996, the Rickards arrived at Spartan Stadium that day not knowing what to expect. Ever since, they’ve been hooked, supporting the club through the highs and the lows as Season Ticket Holders every year, championship seasons and otherwise. The 2003 playoff comeback against the archrival LA Galaxy is still embedded in their minds.

Victor San Vicente – Originally from Venezuela by way of Canada where he graduated from college, Victor’s love for soccer finally found a true home after hearing about the new MLS club coming to San Jose in 1996 and putting down a $200 down payment to become a Clash Founding Season Ticket Holder. He’s been part of the Quakes Family ever since, sitting through two MLS Cups and two Supporters’ Shields amid a parade of unforgettable moments.

Dennis Tracey – Dennis has supported the Earthquakes since the early 2000s when the team played at Spartan Stadium, as well as during the revival when they returned to MLS at Buck Shaw Stadium. Having rooted for the Quakes through thick and thin, his favorite club memory was attending the first match at PayPal Park in 2015, signifying that the club finally had a permanent home to call its own after decades fighting for one.
