Thank you - Fatai Alashe - San Jose Earthquakes

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has traded the MLS rights of midfielder Fatai Alashe to FC Cincinnati in exchange for $135,000 of Allocation Money. Alashe will spend the rest of the 2018 season on loan with FC Cincinnati in USL before the club joins Major League Soccer as an expansion side in 2019.

“We would like to thank Fatai for his hard work and dedication to the team over the past three and a half seasons,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli.

The Earthquakes will receive $60,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) and $75,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) in 2019. San Jose will also receive future considerations if Alashe hits certain statistical benchmarks next season.

Alashe, 24, has made 85 appearances and tallied five goals and three assists for San Jose since being selected with the fourth-overall pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. He made 12 appearances, including two starts, for the Earthquakes this season.
