NEWS: Earthquakes Trade Goalkeeper David Bingham to LA Galaxy

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has traded goalkeeper David Bingham to the LA Galaxy in exchange for as much as $250,000 in Allocation Money. The Quakes will receive $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) and $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) in 2018. San Jose can also receive an additional $50,000 in GAM in 2019 based on his performance next season.


“We want to thank David for everything he’s given to the Quakes,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “He’s been an important part of the team for the last seven seasons and we wish him well in LA.”


Bingham, 28, has started 95 of his 96 total appearances since joining the Quakes via weighted lottery ahead of the 2011 season. The Cal product holds a 34-35-27 career record, with 27 shutouts and a 1.24 goals-against average.
