SAN JOSE, Calif. ā€“Ā The San Jose Earthquakes have officially unveiled The 50 Kit to serve as the clubā€™s new alternate jersey for the 2024 and 2025 Major League Soccer seasons, with IntermediaĀ Cloud CommunicationsĀ returning as official jersey partner. As a tribute to the Earthquakesā€™ 50th anniversary, The 50 Kit features the clubā€™s initial colors of red and white and is the first jersey in MLS history to don a retro crest.

Evoking memories of the clubā€™s early days, the iconic throwback crest that originated in the North American Soccer League era is proudly pressed on the chest with two embroidered stars above it to represent the 2001 and 2003 MLS Cup titles. The crest reads ā€œEARTHQUAKESā€ in swooping red and black letters, with the ā€œQā€ breaking through a soccer ball and ā€œSAN JOSEā€ printed in black lettering below.

ā€œWe are honored to celebrate 50 years of the Earthquakes as part of the Northern California community,ā€ said Earthquakes President Jared Shawlee. ā€œWith such a special year on the horizon, we created The 50 Kit for our fans to reflect this momentous milestone while paying homage to our great past.ā€

A primarily white jersey with red accents, The 50 Kit is a fresh take on a retro classic that connects the oldest generation of supporters from Spartan Stadium to the youngest fans who pack PayPal Park today. The jersey takes cues from some of the most vintage styles of the original era, featuring the traditional red V-neck as well as the playerā€™s name and number in black. An embossed pattern of NASL-era iconography runs down the length of the red and black side paneling.

Included at the hip is a jock tag highlighting the clubā€™s very first logo used only during the inaugural 1974 season. The back neck bears the Quakesā€™ current primary logo in red with the ā€œ50ā€ embellishment to denote the 50th anniversary festivities. The complete uniform, equipped with adidas AEROREADY technology to provide a modern fit, also includes white shorts and socks that are both accented with three red stripes.

On Sunday, Feb. 18, fans who attend the 50th Anniversary Block Party will have the first opportunity to see the jersey live and purchase it. To RSVP for the party, which will take place at San Pedro Square Market in downtown San Jose from 3-7 p.m., click here. The 50 Kit will also be available online here and at the Earthquakesā€™ team store at PayPal Park starting Monday, Feb. 19.

Intermedia returns as the clubā€™s official jersey partner for a fifth season and is prominently displayed on the front of The 50 Kit in black lettering, as well as in white lettering on the existing black and blue Active Fault primary jerseys. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Intermedia is a leading cloud communications company that helps over 135,000 businesses connect better ā€“ through voice, video conferencing, chat, contact center, business email and productivity, file sharing and backup, security, archiving, and additional intelligent communications, collaboration, and customer care solutions.

"Intermedia and our 1,400 team members are thrilled to mark our fifth year as the jersey sponsor and exclusive cloud communications provider for the San Jose Earthquakes, especially as we celebrate the Quakes' momentous 50th anniversary," said Michael Gold, Intermedia Cloud Communications CEO. "Our partnership symbolizes a shared dedication to building strong connections ā€“ whether it's on the pitch, in the local community, or within business. We are honored and proud to be part of the Earthquakes family, and look forward to another exciting year of uniting fans, empowering businesses, and elevating the game on and off the field.ā€

ā€œItā€™s only fitting with this important season ahead that Intermedia is returning for a fifth year, which makes them the longest tenured jersey partner in our club history,ā€ Shawlee added. ā€œTheyā€™ve been an integral part of our club and our business, keeping us connected to our fans and partners with their cloud communications solutions.ā€

The 50 Kit is just one of several 50th anniversary initiatives commencing across Northern California that honor the Earthquakesā€™ past, present, and future as the club looks forward to the next 50 years. As part of a series of community events, the Quakes Foundation has partnered with The PG&E Corporation Foundation to donate 50,000 meals to fight food insecurity and launched a 50 Murals public arts initiative to bring 50 soccer-inspired murals to Northern California ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On the field, the Quakes open the season Feb. 24 on the road against FC Dallas before returning to PayPal Park for their home opener Mar. 2 against the LA Galaxy. With the biggest Cinco de Mayo Weekend celebration on the West Coast for the clash against LAFC on May 4 at Leviā€™s Stadium, to the 50th Anniversary Weekend match on June 29 against the LA Galaxy at Stanford Stadium, the 2024 schedule is packed with games to remember.
