NEWS: Lima, Yueill Called Up to U.S. Men’s National Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes defender Nick Lima and midfielder Jackson Yueill have been called to a U.S. Men’s National Team pre-camp ahead of the Concacaf Nations League group finale.

The pre-camp will run from Nov. 2-9 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. for 20 MLS players who have already completed their seasons. With the pre-camp falling outside the FIFA international window, the European-based players that will be part of the USMNT roster will arrive in Orlando beginning Nov. 10, when the formal camp opens. That list will be revealed Nov. 6 on

Facing must-win scenarios against Canada and Cuba in order to have a chance to advance to the knockout round, the U.S. will look for payback against the Canadians on Nov. 15 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando (4 p.m. PT; ESPN2, UniMas, TUDN). Four days later, the USA meets Cuba in George Town, Cayman Islands. Kickoff at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex is set for 4:30 p.m. PT, and the match will be broadcast live on FS1, UniMas and TUDN.

Lima, 24, made 24 appearances for San Jose this season, including 21 starts. He signed for the Earthquakes as a Homegrown Player ahead of the 2017 season and has since recorded five goals and five assists in 80 appearances. Lima has tallied three assists in nine prior appearances for the U.S. National Team.

Yueill, 22, set single-season career-highs in appearances (32), starts (29), goals (3) and assists (5) in 2019. Now in his third pro season out of UCLA, Yueill has registered three goals and nine assists in 66 total MLS appearances. He has made four prior appearances for the USMNT, including two 90-minute performances in matches against Uruguay (1-1, Sept. 11) and Cuba (7-0, Oct. 12). He is age-eligible for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Lima (Weeks 10, 14 and 21) and Yueill (Weeks 9, 12 and 19) were each named to the MLS Team of the Week on three occasions in 2019.
