NEWS: PayPal Park to Host USWNT 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Send Off Match Against Wales on July 9

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes and U.S. Soccer announced that PayPal Park in San Jose will host the United States Women’s National Team for its 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Send-Off Match against Wales on Sunday, July 9. The match will kick off at 1 p.m. PT and will be televised nationally on TNT in English, and Universo, Peacock, and Telemundo in Spanish.

The match will be the fifth time that the USA will play at the home of the Quakes, and the first time since 2018. All four prior matches were played in front of sellout crowds (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018).

An exclusive presale for Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders will begin Thursday, May 4 at 10 a.m. PT before tickets are made available to the general public on Monday, May 8 at 10 a.m. via ussoccer.com. Fans who purchase Earthquakes season tickets before the general public on-sale will gain access to the presale. For more information on season tickets and all included benefits, click here. Dependent on remaining ticket availability, groups of 20 or more can purchase through ussoccer.com starting Tuesday, May 9. Tickets will not be sold at PayPal Park until the day of the event, subject to availability.

The match will conclude the Americans’ preparation for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup set to kick off July 20 in Australia. The USWNT will look to extend their decorated international record and build on back-to-back World Cup championships. In total, the U.S. has won four FIFA World Cups (1991, 1999, 2015, 2019) and four Olympic championships (1996, 2004, 2008, 2012). Dating back to 1991, the USWNT has placed in every World Cup, earning bronze in 1995, 2003 and 2007 and silver in 2011.

The United States features many of the biggest names in soccer, including former Cal forward Alex Morgan, former Santa Clara University midfielder Julie Ertz, and former Stanford defender Kelly O’Hara.
