In these midst of a global pandemic, companies and individuals are working together to provide relief. The Earthquakes are proud to partner with companies dedicated to helping the Bay Area community and communities nationwide. Here’s how Quakes partners are responding to the crisis.

AB InBev, the parent company of Michelob Ultra and Estrella are manufacturing and distributing over 1 million bottles of hand sanitizer to donate to hospitals and frontline workers around the world.


Anheuser Busch is redirecting sports and entertainment investments to a $5 million donation to the American Red Cross, identifying available arenas and stadiums to be used for temporary blood drive centers and donating TV airtime to the Red Cross for public service announcements. Their tour centers in Merrimack, NH and St. Louis, MO are also being made available to the Red Cross.


Michelob ULTRA is sponsoring live-streamed workouts featuring trainers and studios across the country that are currently out of work. Anyone who tunes in will have the chance to donate to the teachers via a QR code on the screen, which Michelob Ultra will then match up to $5,000 for each instructor. 


Michelob ULTRA 'trick shot' challenge will donate $1 for every video posted to twitter up to $500,000 for the challenge, in addition to a $250,000 grant to United Way's relief fund


Adidas:

From April 18th - May 16th, 2020, adidas and Reebok will donate an additional $2 for every item purchased over $20 from online sites or mobile apps to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Donations support WHO’s work to track and understand the spread of the virus, to ensure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information, and to accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests, and treatments.

Creating One CLEAR Fund to ensure that hourly full and part-time employees are compensated as their shifts are impacted. CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker is foregoing her salary to kick off the fund, and employees can donate to contribute to the fund.

Brown-Forman announced donations totaling $1 million to COVID-19 response funds to support multiple agencies including the Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation and United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) Foundation Emergency Assistance Program.


Fanatics

Fanatics has halted the production of MLB jerseys to instead manufacture masks and gowns for healthcare workers. The company is also offering a line of licensed MLS face coverings with proceeds being donated to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.


Fanatics founder and executive chairman, Michael Rubin, started the All In Challenge which has currently raised over $41 million to battle food insecurity caused by the pandemic.

Offering delivery on UberEats, Postmates and Grubhub

Proms have been canceled across the country, but Jack in the Box hosted a virtual Prom on Instagram Live and Twitch for high school seniors. It’s part of the QSR’s #StayintheBox campaign, encouraging customers to enjoy their favorite Jack’s menu items at home.

Jim Beam parent company, Beam Suntory, donated $1 million to the United States Bartenders’ Guild Foundation Emergency Assistance Program and the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation. The spirit company is also producing FDA approved hand sanitizer and has donated 2,000 gallons of hand sanitizer to support medical professionals in Chicago and Kentucky.

Left Bank, LB Steak and Meso have partnered with the Bill Wilson Center in Santa Clara, a non-profit organization that supports homeless youth and families in our community. Local winery Clos LaChance has donated a case of wine per week and 100% of the proceeds from the sale if the wine goes towards 75 weekly meals being donated to the Bill Wilson Center.


The sister restaurants are offering free delivery and pick up at all 3 Santana Row locations. Offers include 50% off Sommelier's hand selected wine of the day, 30% off bottles of wine and buy a $100 gift card and receive a $25 gift card towards your next pick up or in store visit.

Lux Bus is bringing together volunteers to distribute food at Second Harvest Food Bank.


PG&E:

Donating nearly 1 million N95 and surgical masks to hospital and emergency responders and $1 million to nonprofits that focus on supporting individuals and family facing food insecurities and to small businesses to help with the uncertainty and economic impacts of the public health emergency. 


PG&E is offering support for customers experiencing hardships as a result of COVID-19. Some modifications to billing and service are now in place to ensure electricity and gas continue in spite of financial difficulties. PG&E has suspended service disconnections for non-payment and is waiving their usual deposit requirement for new service to residential and small business applicants.


PG&E announced its support assisting the California Association of Food Banks to establish a Rapid Response Fund with a $150,000 donation.  Through the Rapid Response Fund, the Association will provide critical funding for food banks to increase their capacity to purchase food and supplies, and to supplement their staffing needs through the COVID-19 pandemic and future emergencies.

This donation is part of the $1 million in charitable contributions that PG&E and The PG&E Corporation Foundation have committed to providing to nonprofits focused on supporting individuals and families coping with the impacts of the current health crisis.

SJSU:

San Jose State athletics creates 'Heart for San Jose' clothing line to raise funds for non-profits. Proceeds from sales will go to San Jose State partners Sacred Heart Community Service and Family Supportive Housing.


SJSU's College of Science donated their stock of gloves and masks to Valley Medical Foundation. The university also donated hydrogen peroxide and isopropyl to a local company to make hand sanitizer, and faculty in the industrial design department are using 3-D printers to make test kit swabs and badly needed ventilator parts for front line medical staff.


Sutter Health:

Accepting donations of medical equipment to keep frontline medical staff and the Sutter Health network safe in this healthcare crisis. 


The parking lots and garages of 15 Sutter Health facilities have been transformed into drive-through “urgent care” clinics, where patients with COVID-19-like symptoms can get help for coughs and fever but also other acute medical needs, such as stitches and abdominal pain.

Unilever:

Committed to provide free soap, sanitizer, bleach and food to the value of €100 million. Half of this will go to the COVID Action Platform of the World Economic Forum, which is supporting global health organizations and agencies with their response to the emergency. The other half will come from the many product donations, partnerships and hand washing education programs we are putting in place at a national and local level. Will offer €500 million of cash flow relief to support livelihoods across our extended value chain. They will do this through early payment for our most vulnerable small and medium-sized suppliers to help them with financial liquidity, and extending credit to selected small-scale retail customers whose business relies on Unilever, to help them manage and protect jobs.


Unilever is adapting deodorant production lines in factory to provide sanitizer to hospitals. Currently have more than 30 factories making this essential product for people globally.


Unilever has joined forces with businesses in a consortium which has received formal orders from the government to make in excess of 10,000 ventilators for use in UK hospitals.


UK aid and Unilever to target a billion people in global hand washing campaign. It is backed by funding of up to £50 million each from both UK aid and Unilever. The program will also provide over 20 million hygiene products in the developing world, including in areas where there is little or no sanitation.


Verizon:

Committing up to $5 million in aid to small businesses in a weekly ‘Pay it Forward Live’ series. The series kicked off Thursday, March 26 with a 30 minute performance by Dave Matthews. Throughout the stream, viewers are encouraged to tag small businesses and make purchases in advance for after the crisis has lifted. Verizon has donated $2.5 million to Local Initiatives Support Corporation and will commit $2.5 million more following engagement with the series.

Wells Fargo:

The company’s philanthropic arm is giving $175 million to organizations tackling problems like food insecurity, housing stability and small business support. Among the local nonprofits receiving support from the bank are Meals on Wheels, housing support organization SHELTER Inc. and San Francisco's Give2SF relief fund. The bank is also working with San Francisco nonprofit SaverLife to disburse funds and provide financial coaching. 


In an effort to assist employees who may experience their own hardships, the Wells Fargo Foundation will donate $10 million to its WE Care Fund, which provides resources to colleagues who face a catastrophic disaster or financial hardship resulting from an event beyond their control.
