SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper William Yarbrough has been named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Matchday for Matchday 7. Making his second straight start for an injured Daniel, Yarbrough recorded six saves, with several at point-blank range throughout the course of the game.

Yarbrough recorded a key double save in the 16th minute against Houston’s Ibrahim Aliyu, first stopping a one-on-one challenge and then moments later making an acrobatic save to deny a diving header from the midfielder. Later in the second half, Yarbrough quickly reacted to a low shot through traffic to again deny the Dynamo at the goal line.

The MLS Team of the Matchday selection is Yarbrough’s first of the season and third in his MLS career, earning his previous two with his former club, the Colorado Rapids.
