PRESEASON MATCH RECAP: Earthquakes Defeat Toronto FC 1-0

The San Jose Earthquakes closed out their week-long preseason tour in SoCal with a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC in a closed-door scrimmage on Friday morning in Irvine, Calif. Coupled with a 2-2 draw against NYCFC on Tuesday, San Jose is off to an undefeated start to preseason.

Earthquakes head coach Luchi Gonzalez opted for a completely different lineup in each half, making 11 subs at halftime. San Jose got the game-winning goal through Homegrown forward Will Richmond towards the end of the match.

The Earthquakes will now return to San Jose and continue training before their next friendly vs. Monterey Bay F.C. at Cardinale Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 4. For tickets to the first open-door match of 2023, click here.
