The San Jose Earthquakes selected midfielder Anthony Ampaipitakwong with the 15th pick of the second round (33rd overal) in Thursday's MLS SuperDraft at the Baltimore Convention Center.
Ampaipitakwong won a national title with Akron in 2010 where he earned a reputation as a crafty playmaker.
The Quakes traded their first pick (No. 15 overall) and allocation money for Columbus Crew forward Steven Lenhart.
