Reno 1868 FC announced that the club has signed defenders Brent Richards and Thomas Janjigian to new contracts. Richards and Janjigian have competed for 1868 FC since 2017, the team’s inaugural season in the USL Championship. They will each embark on their fourth year with the club in 2020.
At 89 appearances for 1868 FC, Richards is the club’s all-leader in games played and starts (87). Richards tallied 31 starts and five assists in 2019, bringing his career assists total to 13. He recorded a hat-trick of assists and guided forward Danny Musovski to a franchise-record four goals and an assist against Tacoma Defiance on Sept. 10, earning USL Championship Team of the Week honors for Week 28.
Janjigian has recorded 40 starts over his three seasons with Reno. He appeared in 20 matches in 2019, logging 17 starts. Janjigian netted his first career goal versus Rio Grande Valley FC on Aug. 3, setting Reno on pace to an eventual 2-1 victory.
