The San Jose Earthquakes are committed to growing the sport of soccer throughout Northern California, while remaining in touch with their roots.

Earthquakes II is the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate of the San Jose Earthquakes. Entering their second season, Quakes II is comprised of players on MLS NEXT Pro professional contracts, young first team players, and amateur Quakes Academy players. 

Quakes Players and Salinas natives, Jerry Ayon and Emi Ochoa may return to Salinas to play in this game at Rabobank Stadium in front of their hometown.

Monterey Bay F.C. 2 (MBFC2) is based in Salinas, California and will play in USL League Two, a pre-professional development league beginning in May 2023. The development club will play the majority of its home matches in Salinas at Rabobank Stadium.

The club's soccer operations are led by Monterey Bay F.C. Sporting Director Frank Yallop, who guided the Earthquakes to MLS Cup championships in 2001 and 2003. Former Earthquakes player, Monterey Bay F.C. Assistant Coach, and Salinas native, Ramiro Corrales will manage the touchline as Head Coach for MBFC2.
