March 7, 2005 – Signed forward Dwayne De Rosario to multi-year contract

The San Jose Earthquakes signed forward Dwayne De Rosario to a multi-year contract on March 7, 2005. De Rosario began his MLS career in 2001 with the Quakes and won two of his four MLS Cups with San Jose (2001 and 2003). The Ontario, Canada native was named MVP of the 2001 MLS Cup for scoring the winning goal in the 96th minute of the match, 11 minutes after coming on as a late substitute. In his final season for San Jose, De Rosario received the Quakes’ Most Valuable Player Award and the Golden Boot. De Rosario also earned MLS Best XI honors and won the Goal of the Year Award.
