The San Jose Earthquakes return home to take on Orlando City SC for the first time at Avaya Stadium on Wednesday, May 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 and KZSF 1370. This will be the Quakes’ only matchup against Orlando this season.
The team will then travel to Texas to face FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium on Saturday, May 20, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Bay Area and KNBR 1050.

The San Jose Earthquakes scored two late goals to snatch a road point against Orlando City SC during an emotional evening in central Florida where victims of the Orlando nightclub attacks were honored with a series of tributes. A pair of second half substitutes, midfielder Shea Salinas and forward Chad Barrett, each tallied their first goals of the 2016 season in the dramatic 2-2 draw. In the 11th minute, the Earthquakes used strong link-up play to work the ball up field before forward Quincy Amarikwa chipped a cross in front of goal. Orlando City keeper Joe Bendik came out to grab the ball, but it slipped out of his hands. As Simon Dawkins attempted to put the rebound away, Bendik was just able to recover and corral the loose ball. Seven minutes later, Matias Perez Garcia played a through ball into the box for Dawkins, who controlled the pass and blasted a shot goalward from an acute angle that tailed over the crossbar. Quakes goalkeeper David Bingham made a clutch save in the 52nd minute to keep the match scoreless. Facing a breakaway from reigning Rookie of the Year forward Cyle Larin, Bingham stayed low to kick-save a hard shot out of play. Orlando was able to break the deadlock in the 66th minute when Hines’ header off an Adrian Winter corner kick found the back of the net. San Jose leveled the score-line with just five minutes remaining in regulation. Salinas sent a cross to Barrett, who powerfully headed the ball past Bendik and into the corner of the net. Orlando then scored one minute into stoppage time what seemed to ultimately be the game-winner. Julio Baptista shot a line drive that Bingham was able to deflect but not keep out. Minutes later, with the final whistle looming, Salinas shot and scored the late equalizer after a loose ball fell to him near the penalty spot. It proved to be the match’s final kick of the ball.
History of the Quakes – Orlando Rivalry
The Earthquakes and Orlando City SC drew 1-1 at Levi’s Stadium in their first-ever meeting in 2015 behind Chris Wondolowski’s 100th career MLS goal … The following year, the two sides drew their second encounter 2-2 after Shea Salinas scored in stoppage time to level the match at Camping World Stadium.

History of the Quakes – FC Dallas Rivalry
The Earthquakes were 9-1-4 in the final 14 games against Dallas prior to San Jose’s relocation to Houston … The Quakes posted a seven-game winning streak during that stretch from July 20, 2002 - April 15, 2004 … San Jose and Dallas met in an important match on Oct. 16, 2004, as San Jose needed a win or a tie to advance to the playoffs, while Dallas needed a win to clinch the final berth in the playoffs. ACADEMY UPDATE
The Quakes Academy resumed action on Wednesday with the two U-12 teams taking on Ballistic United SC. The U-12 side defeated Ballistic 3-1, while the second fell 1-0. On Saturday, the Quakes youth teams played Juventus Sport Club. The U-12s won 2-0 and tied 2-2, the U-13s won their match 2-0, the U-14s and the U-15/16s both drew their games 1-1 and the U-17/18s won 4-0. On Sunday, the U-12s, U-13s and U-14s faced EBU Bay Oaks, where the U-12s won their matches, the U-13s fell 1-0 and the U-14s won 4-2.
The Quakes youth teams will be back in action starting on Wednesday, May 17, as both the U-12s take on Ballistic United SC. During the weekend, the Academy will face off against the youth teams of Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday and the Santa Cruz Breakers Academy on Sunday.
BURLINGAME DRAGONS FC UPDATE
Burlingame Dragons FC kicked off the week with a win against El Farolito in the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 10. The match ended scoreless, but the Dragons won 6-5 on penalties. On Saturday, the club made the trip up to the City and drew 1-1 with San Francisco City FC at Negoesco Stadium. The Dragons concluded their busy week with a 3-0 loss to Fresno Fuego in the club’s season home opener on Sunday.
The Quakes’ affiliate will be back in action this Wednesday, May 17, when they travel down to Stanford Stadium to take on San Francisco Deltas in the U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
On Sunday, the Dragons return home to face San Francisco City FC at 4 p.m. Attendees will receive free pizza as part of their admission ticket.
