Nutrilite Training Facility Grand Opening

The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that they have officially opened their new training ground, the Nutrilite Training Facility. The facility is adjacent to the site of the proposed new Earthquakes stadium on Coleman Avenue.
“For the first time in club history, the team will have a dedicated training facility,” said general manager of soccer operations John Doyle. “This facility will be a major boost for our coaches and players in their daily preparation. Along with the addition of staff and resources, we are continuing to build the soccer side of this organization. The construction of this facility is another example of our ownership’s commitment to this team.”
The Nutrilite Training Facility took four months to complete and was built by Devcon Construction, who worked in conjunction with Robert A. Bothman, Inc. The facility will be maintained by Colony Landscaping. It has a Bermuda grass surface and is the same size as the playing field at Buck Shaw Stadium, which is 72-yards x 115-yards. The square footage of the entire facility is 85-yards x 140-yards, including an area behind the goal for warming up and goalkeeper drills.
The Grand Opening of the Nutrilite Training Facility featured the first-ever practice by the Earthquakes at the new facility. Along with the entire coaching staff and all the players, the ceremony included Earthquakes President Mike Crowley and other executives, the Mayor of San Jose, Chuck Reed and other local dignitaries.
