Arturo Alvarez will help get fans into the World Cup mood one day before the biggest soccer event on the planet kicks off in South Africa. The Earthquakes striker will drop by the Verizon Wireless Store at 768 Market Street in San Francisco on Thursday, June 10 from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs.
Alvarez recently returned to the Quakes starting lineup after missing much of the season with a hamstring strain. He scored a goal in San Jose's 2-2 draw with Eastern Conference leading Columbus on Wednesday, June 2 at Buck Shaw Stadium. Alvarez also spent time in the off-season playing for the El Salvador National Team alongside Quakes teammate Ramon Sanchez.
