The Odwalla Youth Soccer Player of the Month for September is Mason Escalante. Mason plays on the Santa Cruz County Breakers 01B White team, which is in the top U9 division in the CYSA Cal Soccer League. Mason, who is 8 years old, started playing soccer when he was 4. He has now become the starting goalkeeper in only his first year playing competitive soccer.
Mason’s team is currently in league play. He has conceded only 4 goals in two games. An avid soccer fan, he watched almost every World Cup match and eagerly awaits the day when the event comes to the United States.
