Four teams will continue their quest for the NCAA College Cup on the campus of UC Santa Barbara tonight. Coverage begins with No. 1 Louisville (19-0-3) taking on No. 4 North Carolina (16-3-1) at 5:30 p.m. PT on ESPNU and ends with No. 3 Akron (20-1-1) facing No. 10 Michigan (17-4-3) on ESPN2.
Louisville is trying to become the first undefeated NCAA men's soccer title winner since Santa Clara accomplished that feat in 1989 when the Broncos were crowned co-champions with Virginia. The Cardinals have never won the College Cup.
Talent-laden Akron are trying to become the first mid-major to win the title since UC Santa Barbara did so in 2006. The Zips boast a bevy of future MLS talent, including combine invitees Christopher Korb and Anthony Ampaipitakwong.
North Carolina are the only returning title winners of the group. The Tar Heels won the national championship in 2001 with a roster that included current San Jose Earthquakes defender Chris Leitch.
Michigan reached the College Cup after pulling off upsets against No. 7 South Carolina (3-1) and No. 2 Maryland (3-2). The Wolverines are led by freshman striker Soony Saad, the nation's second-leading goal scorer with 19.
