The former No. 12 overall SuperDraft selection set career highs in games played (19), games started (nine), minutes (703) and scored his first career MLS goal in 2011, his third season in the league. Alexandre’s strike against Vancouver was a game winner and received a Week 12 MLS Goal of the Week nomination. He also got on the scoresheet last season with two assists and helped Real Salt Lake during their run to the 2011 CONCACAF Champions League Final.

“Jean is a very versatile attacking midfielder with a great upside and we look forward to having him here in San Jose,” said Earthquakes General Manager of Soccer Operations John Doyle.

On the international side, Alexandre has nine career caps with Haiti. Most recently, he started four of Les Grenadier’s six preliminary 2012 CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers and came of the bench in the 58th minute in a fifth. He scored a pair of goals in a 6-0 rout of the U.S. Virgin Islands on Sept. 2, his first tallies on the international stage.

Off the field, Alexandre was Real Salt Lake’s 2010 Humanitarian of the Year after organizing a shoe drive for children in his native country.
