Earthquakes, Wells Fargo kick off 4v4 series

The San Jose Earthquakes and Wells Fargo have again teamed up to host a series of youth and adult soccer tournaments around the Bay Area for a second straight year. Following a successful inaugural run a year ago, the first of four Earthquakes 4v4 Presented by Wells Fargo tourneys took place on Saturday, May 12, at San Jose’s Overfelt High School.

Over 50 teams, from U-8 to adult levels, participated in the event, with Earthquakes midfielder Shea Salinas signing autographs and juggling with kids, and Wells Fargo’s historical mobile museum present to provide free photos to attendees to commemorate their experience. Sponsors on-site included Wells Fargo, XFINITY, T-Mobile, adidas, Arriba y Arriba and Sensacion Deportiva.

In addition to events in San Jose, East Palo Alto and Hayward, the 2012 series will also feature a stop in San Francisco. Next up is Cesar Chavez Elementary School in East Palo Alto on Saturday, June 23.

Registration is accepted in Boys and Girls U-8 through U-19 divisions, Adult Co-Ed, Men’s and Women’s Rec and Men’s Open, with a maximum of seven players per roster. All participants receive an Earthquakes ticket, event t-shirt and sponsor gifts. Division champions earn a team trophy, with individual medals going to first- and second-place teams.
