Of Note

-Sunday night's 1-0 victory over the LA Galaxy improved the Quakes record to 4-4-1 in all playoff matches against their California Clasico rival. The Quakes beat the LA Galaxy 2-1 in overtime to win the 2001 MLS Cup. San Jose also staged a dramatic 5-2 second leg victory over the LA Galaxy, after a 2-0 first leg loss, en route to winning the 2003 MLS Cup.

-Current LA Galaxy midfielder Landon Donovan holds the Quakes' records for goals and assists in the playoffs with 10 and six respectively.

-The Earthquakes have won their second Supporters' Shield trophy after a tight race against Sporting Kansas City. The Earthquakes recorded the best record in both the Western Conference and Major League Soccer with 66 points. The Earthquakes last won the Supporters' Shield in 2005.

-Quakes All-Star forward Chris Wondolowski won the Budweiser Golden Boot after scoring 27 goals in the regular season. Wondolowski converted a penalty kick against the Portland Timbers in the last game of the regular season. The goal tied Roy Lassiter's record of goals scored in a season set in 1996.

-Quakes All-Star forward Chris Wondolowski was named October's Player of the Month for a fifth time and a league-record fourth time in one season. Wondolowski recorded five goals in three games as the Earthquakes compiled a 1-0-2 record in the month of October. The MLS Player of the Month is selected by a panel of journalists from The North American Soccer Reporters (NASR).

-Quakes all-star defender Justin Morrow has signed a new contract with the Earthquakes. The 25-year-old defender has had his most productive year, starting in and playing the full 90 minutes in 34 games this season. Per MLS policy, terms of the new deal were not disclosed.
