Quakes to unveil new logo and uniforms on Jan. 30

The San Jose Earthquakes will unveil a new logo and new uniforms in a special outdoor presentation as part of the club’s 40th Anniversary Party at San Pedro Square Market in Downtown San Jose on Thursday, Jan. 30. The free event is open to the public and will also include a live concert by The Old Firm Casuals, featuring long-time Quakes fans Lars Frederiksen as well as The Forgotten.

During the next four weeks leading up to the unveiling, the Quakes official website and other digital channels will provide content and information about the Quakes’ history, as well as key elements of the team’s identity. The special content kicks off this week and continues right up to the celebration on Jan. 30.

“We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this momentous occasion with our fans at one of San Jose’s most iconic venues, San Pedro Square Market,” said Earthquakes president Dave Kaval. “As we celebrate 40 years of Quakes soccer and with the new stadium scheduled for completion this year, we felt this was the perfect time to unveil a new look that embodies the true spirit of this club. We look forward to a memorable night that will highlight all of the great things that make this club special.”

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. PT with Earthquakes players available for autographs and photographs, along with a Q&A session featuring current and former Quakes. Fans in attendance will have the chance to remember the club’s roots with historical displays featuring items provided by History of San Jose, including numerous old Quakes jerseys. The club’s new stadium mobile preview center will also be on site to allow fans to sit in stadium seats and view a 3D seat map. Additionally, San Pedro Square Market’s vendors will offer discounts and specials to fans looking for food and drinks throughout the night.

The logo and new uniforms will be unveiled in dramatic fashion at the event during a special presentation that will include Kaval and current and past players, along with San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed. Immediately, following the presentation, the new jerseys and additional merchandise with the new logo will be available for purchase. The night will conclude with live performances from The Old Firm Casuals and The Forgotten.

Earthquakes season ticket holders that purchased season tickets before the early bird deadline can pick up their 40th anniversary scarves with the new logo following the logo unveiling. For more information, fans should contact their fan relations representative.
