#RoadToBrazil: Bernardez, Honduras to tune up in friendly vs. Venezuela

Today's international date marks another chance for Victor "Muma" Bernardez and the Honduran National Team to get one more tune-up before they had to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Los Catrachos host Venezuela for a friendly today in San Pedro Sula; kickoff is set for 5 p.m. PT.

Venezuela has only won one of their last 14 games on the road. Honduras, on the other hand, has been in good home form lately - defeating the United States and drawing Mexico on their way to qualifying for the World Cup.

A mainstay for Los Catrachos' defensive line, Bernardez has been a regular call-up for nearly a decade and was a crucial part of their 2014 World Cup qualifiying. The consistent center back made one appearance at the 2010 FIFA World Cup for Honduras, playing the full 90 in a scoreless draw against Switzerland.

It's expected that he'll be starting for the Honduras squad come this World Cup, though. Los Catrachos first face France at the World Cup this summer and will continue Group E play against Ecuador and Switzerland.
