MLS ranks as popular as MLB among adolescents

MLS ranks as popular as MLB among adolescents -

Here's a game-changer:

According to a recent post on MLSsoccer.com, Major League Soccer has officially caught up to Major League Baseball in the percentage of adolescents who claim to be avid fans of their respective leagues.

To be exact, 18 percent of 12 to 17 year olds are now following and supporting MLS.

Not significant enough for you?

The article goes on to say that this age group is undoubtedly the hardest to win over. They're at an age where they are following everything and consuming it all at once.  Better yet, they are on the cusp of entering the working force, having disposable income and lots of free time to support their teams.

Taking this knowledge and adding it to the fact that MLS is only 19 years old - while MLB stands at a ripe age of 145 - this is great news for our league and its future growth in the United States.

Oh, and did we mention its a World Cup year? Yeah, things are only going up from here.
