The third Annual Wine and Dine with the Earthquakes held at Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill was another booming success, bringing in $40,000 through a live auction, silent auction and raffle. Attended by players, coaching staff and over 150 fans, all proceeds from the event went to the Earthquakes Community Fund.
The event featured a buffet dinner courtesy of Cosmopolitan Catering, live auction, raffle and grape stomp as well as celebrity bartending from Earthquakes players. Guests enjoyed a tasting selection of Guglielmo's red and white wines while mingling with players and coaching staff.
For the third year in a row, Quakes president Dave Kaval presided over the live auction ceremony, delivering speeches and recognizing players for their continued involvement in the community. During the live auction, guests were able to bid on numerous items, including pieces from Quakes' defender Jordan Stewart's clothing line, a VIP experience at Levi's Stadium, Yannick Djalo game-worn signed cleats, private soccer clinics with midfielder Shea Salinas and more. Three bidders got to participate in a grape stomp with the Quakes player or coach of their choice. We'd like to congratulate our 2014 grape stomp winner, Kevin McLelland, and his partner Earthquakes midfield Sam Cronin!
New to this year's event was the "Fund A Cause" which raised enough money to purchase 280 soccer balls for our Summer Soccer Clinic Series.
All proceeds from the event benefited the Earthquakes Community Fund. A certified 501(c)3 charity, the San Jose Earthquakes Community Fund facilitates and supports programs that produce positive change for children and families in our community with an emphasis on health and fitness.
