Academy: Bashti called to U.S. U-18 camp

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes Academy midfielder Amir Bashti was among 36 players called to U-18 United States Men’s National Team camp by head coach Javier Perez on Wednesday.


The camp will convene from Oct. 23-31 in Carson, Calif. and will include an instrasquad match on Sunday, Oct. 26 as well as the potential for a scrimmage against a local club team. The camp is geared toward the 1997 age group that would be involved in the qualification process toward the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.


Bashti (Cupertino / Monta Vista HS) has three goals in five games for the Earthquakes U-18s this season. He has helped the U-18s to their best start in club history at 4-0-1. Bashti is in his fourth season with the Earthquakes Academy and has committed to play college soccer at Stanford in the fall of 2015.
