Academy players Bashti, Marcinkowski called to USMNT U-18 camp

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes Academy midfielder Amir Bashti and goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski were among 20 players called to United States U-18 camp on Wednesday by head coach Javier Perez. The group will convene in Marbella, Spain from Dec. 11-20 with friendlies scheduled against Germany’s U-18s on Dec. 17 and 19.


Bashti (Cupertino, Calif. / Monta Vista HS) has six goals in 10 games for the Earthquakes U-18s this season. He has helped the U-18s to their best start in club history at 10-3-2. Bashti is in his fourth season with the Earthquakes Academy and has committed to play college soccer at Stanford in the fall of 2015.


Marcinkowski (Alamo, Calif. / De La Salle HS) has played in nine games for the Earthquakes U-18s this season. The nation’s top goalkeeping prospect according to TopDrawerSoccer.com has been a mainstay for the United States throughout his youth career. He is in his third year with the club and has committed to play college soccer at Georgetown in the fall of 2015.


The U-18 MNT is 4-6-1 in international competition in 2014.
