Quakes Preseason Continues
The San Jose Earthquakes have spent the past week in Tucson, Ariz. and played their first two MLS opponents of the preseason on the trip. San Jose lost to the Houston Dynamo 3-2 on Feb. 4 and then tied Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Feb. 7 1-1. The team wraps up the trip on Feb. 10 against the Portland Timbers before returning to San Jose to continue training camp.

Earthquakes hit 11,000 Season Tickets
The San Jose Earthquakes have surpassed 11,000 season ticket holders for the 2015 season at Avaya Stadium. Due to the high demand, the club has made additional seats available for purchase as season tickets. With the additional seats, there are now under 1000 seats available for purchase as season tickets. Once those season tickets have sold out, a waiting list will be started. The Quakes also announced today that season ticket prices will increase by 10 percent starting on Feb. 23. The price increase will not affect the Supporters’ sections. Those sections will maintain the current price of $300 for the 20-game package ($15 per game). To purchase season tickets, fans should call the Quakes Front Office at 408-556-7700. For individual tickets, fans can visit sjearthquakes.com, Ticketmaster.com or call 1-800-745-3000. Fans can also purchase tickets at Ticketmaster locations in the Bay Area, including Walmart and Chavez Supermarkets.




Wondolowski Appears for U.S. vs. Chile
Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski finished off camp with the U.S. national team by playing 45 minutes in a 2-0 win over Panama on Feb. 8 at the StubHub Center. Wondolowski also made an appearance for the U.S. on Jan. 28 in the United States’ 3-2 loss to Chile in Rancagua, Chile. He now has 27 caps and nine goals in his national team career. The Quakes all-time leading scorer will join the team in San Jose this week for training camp.




Thompson, U.S. U-20s Advance to 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand
Earthquakes Homegrown Player Tommy Thompson and the U.S. U-20s qualified for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand after finishing 4-1-1 in the CONCACAF Championship last week in Jamaica. Thompson started each of the American’s six games during the tournament and scored a goal in an 8-0 win against Aruba on Jan. 14. The U.S. was drawn into Group A for the tournament, which will take place from May 30 through June 20 in New Zealand. Their opponents will be host New Zealand, Myanmar and Ukraine.




Great Soccer Ball Relay Coming to Northern California
The Earthquakes will commemorate the opening of Avaya Stadium next year with an Olympic torch-style soccer ball relay that ends in the club’s new venue. The Great Soccer Ball Relay, presented by The Bay Area BMW Centers, has already begun its journey across Northern California and will complete its tour on March 22 at Avaya Stadium. Avaya Stadium Opener Sold Out
The club’s home opener against the Chicago Fire at Avaya Stadium sold out on Jan. 16, over two months before the date of the match. San Jose will host Chicago on Sunday, March 22 (4 p.m. PT / FOX Sports 1) in the first-ever game at the new venue. 




U.S. Women’s National Team to Play at Avaya Stadium on Sunday, May 10
The U.S. Women’s National Team will open up its three-game Send-Off Series against the Republic of Ireland at Avaya Stadium on Sunday, May 10. The Mother’s Day match will kick off at 11:30 a.m. PT and be broadcast on FOX Sports 1. Ticket information will be announced at a later date, but Earthquakes season ticket holders will have an exclusive window to purchase seats. This game will mark the beginning of the WNT’s final preparations at home prior to the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. It will also be the WNT’s first trip to Avaya Stadium. The home of the Earthquakes is set to open on March 22, setting the stage for the WNT to be one of the first teams to play in the new facility.
