Quakes sign Goalkeeper Tomas Gomez

SAN JOSE, Calif. –
The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has signed goalkeeper Tomas Gomez. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. 
Gomez, 22, was a four-year starter at Georgetown University, where he led the Hoyas to a 50-16-13 record from 2011-14. In 81 starts at Georgetown, Gomez made 251 saves, set a school record with 36 shutouts and recorded a 0.70 goals against average.
Gomez was named to the All-BIG EAST Conference team three times (2012-14), the All-Region team three times (2012-14), and was selected as the BIG EAST Co-Goalkeeper of the Year in 2013. He has also spent time with the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team.
Gomez originally entered MLS as a third-round selection (60th overall) by the Columbus Crew in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.
