SAN JOSE, Calif. –
San Jose Earthquakes forward Innocent underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee suffered in the team’s match against Real Salt Lake on May 1. The procedure was performed at Stanford Hospital by Dr. Zack Vaughn and is expected to sideline the forward for four to six months.
Innocent appeared in seven of the team’s first eight matches this season, making six starts, and scoring the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for his strike against Seattle in Week 2. The Swiss international signed with the Quakes on Jan. 31.
