VOTE: MPG, Innocent goals up for 2015 MLS Goal of the Year

The San Jose Earthquakes tallied some unbelievable goals during the 2015 campaign. As a result, two of them have been nominated for the 2015 MLS Goal of the Year, courtesy of Matias Perez Garcia and Innocent.


The field consists of 64 candidates, which are geographically divided into four different groups - Midwest, West, East and South. This year, the competition has shifted from a group-based voting format to a bracket. 


Both goals from Matias Perez Garcia and Innocent come against San Jose’s Western Conference foe Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field. 


Voting starts today and will run until November 6.


Voting Schedule

  • First Round (Part 2): Nov. 2-Nov. 6
    - After First Round voting ends remaining goals reorganized into a single bracket.
  • Second Round: Nov. 9-13
  • Round of 16: Nov. 16-19
  • Quarterfinal Round: Nov. 20-23
  • Semifinal Round: Nov. 24-27
  • Championship Round: Nov. 30-Dec. 2


The 2015 AT&T Goal of the Year winner will be announced on Thursday, December 3.
