Matias Perez Garcia Advances to Second Round of MLS Goal of the Year Voting
After a week of first-round voting for the 2015 AT&T Goal of the Year, Matias Perez Garcia's wonder goal against Seattle Sounders FC on June 20 has made it to the second round. Garcia's stunner is up against Robbie Keane's volley scored against the Portland Timbers on Oct. 18 at StubHub Center. The field consists of 32 candidates, which are geographically divided into four different groups - Midwest, West, East and South. This year, the competition has shifted from a group-based voting format to a bracket. Voting starts today and will run until November 13. Earthquakes Midfielder Fatai Alashe Called to U.S. Under-23s 
San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Fatai Alashe has been called to the United States Under-23 National Team for a pair of friendlies against Brazil’s U-23s, with the first match being held at Ilha do Retiro Stadium in Recife on November 11 (3:00 p.m. PT) and the second at Mangueirão Stadium in Belém on November 15 (1:30 p.m. PT).


Earthquakes Midfielder Fatai Alashe, Defender Marvell Wynne Selected as Finalists for MLS Awards
San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Fatai Alashe was selected as one of three finalists for the 2015 AT&T Rookie of the Year Award, while Quakes defender Marvell Wynne was a finalist for the MLS Fair Play Award. The AT&T Rookie of the Year Award recognizes the best player without previous professional experience who made his MLS debut in 2015. The MLS Fair Play Award is given annually to both an individual player and team and is selected by Major League Soccer based on objective criteria such as fouls committed, cards received, games & minutes played, as well as subjective evaluation of sportsmanlike behavior.


Clásico Tapatío comes to Avaya Stadium on November 14
Tickets are on sale now at the Avaya Stadium box office for the November 14 friendly match between Club Chivas de Guadalajara and Club Atlas, also based in Guadalajara, for the rivalry known as el 'Clásico Tapatío'. Ticket prices start at $35.

U18s, U16s Keep Pace in their Divisions after Pacific Northwest Trip
The Earthquakes’ U18s and U16s continued their 2015-16 campaign this past weekend in the Pacific Northwest against Western Conference foes Seattle Sounders FC and the Portland Timbers. The U18s defeated the Timbers 1-0 on Saturday at the Timbers Training Facility behind Theo Huxham's goal and then played to a scoreless draw against Sounders FC on Sunday at Starfire Sports Complex. The U16s, who received two goals from Victor Romero and one from Ivan Valencia, fell to the Timbers 2-1 and Sounders FC 3-2. The U18s currently lead the Northwest Division with a 6-2-1 record and 19 points, while the U16s are tied for fifth with a 4-5-0 record and 12 points.
