Breaking Down the Quakes 2016 Secondary Kit

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes today unveiled the club’s new secondary kit for the 2016 season. The white and red color scheme pays homage to the Quakes rich history, while also looking forward to the future. The kit, which features the club’s recently announced jersey partner Sutter Health across the chest, was introduced to fans at a season ticket holder-only match between the club’s first team and U-18 academy at Avaya Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Among the features of the Quakes new kit are the club’s brand pillars, ‘Unity, Devotion, Heritage,’ written along the inner neck tape, with the original San Jose Clash logo (1996-99) directly above. The Clash logo represents the 20 years since the team’s participation in Major League Soccer’s inaugural season of 1996.The jersey also has a red stripe down the left side of the chest, with ‘SJ74’ written towards the bottom of the stripe as a tribute to the club’s North American Soccer League founding in 1974.
