Quincy Amarikwa - Simon Dawkins - ESPN FC Goals of the Year - 122616

By now, Quakes fans are well-aware of Quincy Amarikwa’s epic strike heard ‘round the world known as “The Chip”.

While coming up short in fan voting for MLS Goal of the Year, it still had the chance to finish at the top of other countdowns, as many websites & shows reflect on the 2016 MLS year that was. Lucky for Quincy, Ale Moreno, outspoken on multiple occasions about his fondness for the goal, was the one making the picks for ESPN FC.

“The Chip” topped them all, gathering the same shocked reactions from the other pundits who had no doubt seen the goal plenty of times before.

Simon Dawkins also represented the Quakes in the countdown, starting things off at number 10 with the unforgettable double back-heel combination goal with Chris Wondolowski that sparked a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake in October.
