For some Quakes, the offseason was much shorter than their teammates'. Particularly for international players David Bingham and Chris Wondolowski (USA), Darwin Ceren (El Salvador), and Harold Cummings and Anibal Godoy (Panama).
With Copa Centroamericana wrapping up, the Technical Study Group at the tournament named their "Best XI" for the tournament that saw Honduras finish first, with Panama second and El Salvador third. The top four teams in the tournament earn qualification for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, in which the Bay Area will host a knockout match to be determined at a later date.
