MATCH RECAP: Earthquakes Defeat LA Galaxy in Las Vegas Preseason Match

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The San Jose Earthquakes defeated the LA Galaxy 1-0 in the California Clasico Las Vegas on Saturday evening. The Quakes remain undefeated in the 2017 preseason with a 4-0-1 overall record.


Olmes Garcia scored his first goal for the Quakes in the 89th minute to earn the victory. Lindo Mfeka played the ball to Tommy Thompson who took a shot, but was denied by LA Galaxy keeper Clement Diop. Garcia found the rebound and sent the ball to the back of the net from short range.


Quakes will next face USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC on Saturday, Feb. 18 in a preseason matchup with kickoff programmed for 12:30 p.m. PT at Greater Nevada Field. The game will mark the historic first match for Reno 1868 FC, who will play their inaugural season in USL during the 2017 season. The match will also be the first time a major league team from any sport will play in Reno. Tickets can be purchased here.
