NEWS: Earthquakes To Kick Off Neighborhood Nights with Los Gatos

Shea Salinas - Los Gatos Neighborhood Night - 2017

SAN JOSE, Calif. –
The San Jose Earthquakes will celebrate communities surrounding San Jose with Neighborhood Nights throughout the 2017 season, kicking off the initiative with Los Gatos on April 8 for the game against Seattle Sounders FC. The seven Neighborhood Nights at Avaya Stadium this season will recognize and benefit some of the vibrant communities in the South Bay.

“The support from the residents in the surrounding communities helps make us who we are,” said Earthquakes Chief Operating Officer Jared Shawlee. “The Neighborhood Nights are our way of celebrating and supporting the fans that make Avaya Stadium their second home, and we are looking forward to hosting them on their night and throughout the season.”

Residents of the recognized community will receive a promo code for the match, enabling them to purchase tickets at a discounted rate. A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit a nonprofit located in that community.
Cancer CAREpoint, which serves Los Gatos, will be the beneficiary on April 8. The organization offers counseling, assistance, resources and education for cancer patients at no cost. The Los Gatos Mayor’s Office will be in attendance to show their support.
Since the club’s inception, the San Jose Earthquakes have maintained many ties with the Los Gatos community with several current and former players, coaches, club employees and season ticket holders calling Los Gatos home. Los Gatos United SL and Liverpool FC, the two youth soccer leagues in Los Gatos, will participate in the Los Gatos Night as athletes from both leagues will accompany the Quakes players when they enter the pitch.
The match against Seattle Sounders FC will kick off at 7:15 p.m.
