Each home game, the Earthquakes select a Season Ticket Holder to be this week's Fan of the Match, presented by Avaya. The lucky fan is presented with the amazing opportunity to experience warmups from field level, sit on the team bench, get a bag of free Earthquakes merchandise, and last but not least, meet a player for a photograph right after warmups! This week's Fan of the Match is Wally Mort.

When did you find out you’d be Saturday’s Fan of the Match, and how did you react?
Wally Mort:
I found out last Thursday, first thing I did was call my wife to see if she wanted to go to the game along with my sons and I.
SJEQ: When did you become a Season Ticket Holder?
WM: 2015
SJEQ: What is your favorite memory as a STH?
WM: There are a couple that stand out, first the opening game at Avaya and Fatai's first goal. Second is the US Open Cup match in 2015 against the Republic, a come from behind penalty shootout win (loved seeing the deflated Republic fans after the game).
SJEQ: Are you excited about the fresh faces in the team this year?
WM: Very excited about the new signings - Flo is "hilarious", Hyka is a constant threat whenever he is on the ball and although Urena has played well, I'd love to see Hoesen get some more time.
SJEQ: How are you feeling about the 2017 season?
WM: Optimistic, I think with the new additions, possible DP signings in the summer and the growth of some of our young players we'll finally end this playoff drought.
SJEQ: Who is your favorite Quakes player of all time and why?
WM: Wondo!! A fiery goal scorer who leaves everything on the pitch plus is a fellow Chico State Alum, what more could you ask for?
