It’s safe to say it was a great weekend for the Earthquakes organization from top to bottom.

While the Quakes secured an impressive 1-0 road win against FC Dallas Saturday night at Toyota Stadium, their USL affiliate club, Reno 1868 FC, defeated Seattle Sounders 2 FC 6-0 in front of the Reno faithful. It was the club’s first-ever win at home in their inaugural season.

Quakes goalkeeper Matt Bersano secured his second straight shutout in USL play Saturday night. Last night’s victory comes on the heels of their first-ever win in club history when they defeated Phoenix Rising FC 4-0 on May 6. Reno forward Dane Kelly starred in the win for 1868 FC, tallying his second straight hat trick in USL competition.

San Jose’s 2017 MLS SuperDraft pick Lindo Mfeka scored his first-ever goal for Reno after recording two assists in their last USL match against Phoenix.

Second-year defender Kip Colvey played 90 minutes in the victory, while Matheus Silva was a part of Reno’s 18.

Reno will look to continue their winning ways back home Wednesday, May 24 when they face Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Greater Nevada Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT.
