FEATURE: Marco Urena's memorable 2017 Gold Cup Experience

Gold Cup - Marco Urena - 2017 - Semifinals

Earthquakes forward Marco Ureña and the Costa Rica National Team are enjoying a successful Gold Cup run.

They will compete in the Gold Cup Semifinals against the U.S. Men’s National Team on Saturday, July 22 at 7:30 p.m. PT, having defeated Panama 1-0 on Wednesday, July 19 in the Quarterfinals.

Saturday's game will mark Costa Rica's fifth Semifinal appearance and first since 2009. Los Ticos are 5-2-6 in 2017 and are currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak, going 4-0-3.

So far in the tournament, in addition to the win against Panama, they have defeated Honduras 1-0 on July 7, drew Canada 1-1 on July 11 and beat French Guiana 3-0 on July 14.

It has been a good tournament for Ureña as well. The Quakes forward scored in the 1-0 win over Honduras and provided an assist in the 3-0 win against French Guiana.

Costa Rica's best finish in the tournament came in 2002 when they fell 2-0 to the USA in the Final. If they are able to do tonight what they couldn’t against the U.S. 15 years ago, they have the chance to make Costa Rican Gold Cup history.
